   In these shocking photos,  by world-renowned  photojournalist Giannis Bechrakis, an Egyptian immigrant shows the marks of torture on his body by his Greek boss. After being robbed from his boss from his money, the baker employee, an illegal immigrant, was beaten for many hours by three men, and he was chained bleeding and unconscious, ultimately left to die. He was found  and  rushed to hospital from local citizens. A photo that reminds to all of us the inhumanity of slavery.

BLOOMBERG: MIDDLE CLASS DOES NOT HAVE ACCESS TO EUROPEAN AID PACKAGES, GREEK OLIGARCHS ARE POCKETING ALL THE MONEY.

Even as Greece reduces its deficit and accepts a European aid package that may include a 34.4 billion-euro loan approved last month, conditions for Greece’s middle class are likely to worsen next year as austerity measures take a bigger bite, said George Tzogopoulos, a research fellow at the Hellenic Foundation for European & Foreign Policy in Athens.

“I don’t think there is a single Greek citizen who believes that things will be better,” Tzogopoulos said. “There is no money for people to spend.”

Signs of Greece’s decline are everywhere in Thessaloniki, its second-largest city. Stores are closed in the fashionable shopping district downtown. Near an Yves Saint Laurent store, a man searched the trash bins for scrap metal, which he piled in the same shopping cart where his toddler daughter rode (....)

LESSONS FROM COPPOLA'S "GODAFATHER" ON STICKING TO YOUR CREATIVE VISION.

Lessons From 'The Godfather' On Sticking To Your Creative Vision

"I was told by everyone that my ideas for it were so bad."

Listening to the commentary track by director Francis Ford Coppola on his film The Godfather, I was astounded. What is widely considered one of the greatest films ever made, Francis tells story after story about how:

• So many of his ideas were met with disapproval and rejection. Casting, time-period, location, shooting style, music, and nearly every other aspect of what it means to be a director.
• The studio kept threatening to fire him.
• No one envisioned this movie as anything but a small budget film.
• The studio rejected his ideas for casting. It's almost unbelievable to consider, but the head of Columbia Pictures actually said this to Francis while casting: "As president of Columbia Pictures, I am telling you: Marlon Brando will not appear in this film." They also didn't want Al Pacino to play Michael Corleone, and they had other ideas for who should play Tom Hagan. Of course today, you almost can't imagine anyone but Robert Duvall playing that character.
• Many of what would become famous scenes from the movie were criticized by the studio and reshoots were called for.
• Overall, there was a pervasive sense that no one believed in his ideas. He felt he was hired because he was young, and thus could make the movie quickly, under budget, and that the studio felt they could control him due to his inexperience.

Many of these decisions by the studio were meant to find popularity; the studio wanted modern popular music, not music that would be from the Sicilian countryside; actors who were easy to deal with, not an artist such as Brando; a setting in modern times of the early 1970s, not a period piece from the 1940s; more action, even when it didn't serve the story. These were often decisions reaching for easy popularity, not integrity and vision.

 

As the last 40 years since the film's release have illustrated to us, Francis was correct in sticking to his creative vision. That, regardless of what the world tells you, you have to know when to ignore others and move forward with your own vision.

It is worth noting that at the time, Francis had a young family and very little money. He was not in the situation to just "risk it all" because he was young and single and able to throw caution to the wind. He felt the same pressure that you or I may feel: that we want to create meaningful work while still living up to the obligations of life.

Now, I often train writers to do lots of research and listen to their audience to help shape their platform. So what is the difference here? Why was it right for Francis to ignore the feedback of others? Because for The Godfather, others were making decisions based on a financial budget, not on creative vision. THIS is when you ignore others. When the goal of the decision-making is focused on short-term thinking only.

What Francis created inspired so many others, and to this day, the movie is just breathtaking. He turned what was intended to be a throwaway film into a touchstone for a generation.

As a writer, you need to have courage. The ideas you will be made fun of for now may well be what you are admired for 40 years later.

TIME MAGAZINE MENTIONS GREEK NEONAZI PARTY SUPPORTING ATHLETE'S TWEET AS THE NO 2 WORST TWEET OF 2012

The International Olympic Committee boasted that this year’s Summer Games would be the most social games yet, with some outlets going so far as to dub them the “Socialympics.” Along with creating official Olympic hubs on social media platforms like Facebook and Google+, the IOC issued updated social media, blogging and Internet guidelines, encouraging all participants to tweet – as long as the messages were “dignified and in good taste.” But that didn’t stop Greek triple jumper Voula Papachristou, whose tweet got her banned from the Games before they even began. She was quickly followed by Swedish soccer player Michel Morganella, who was sent home after tweeting a racist remark hours after the Swiss team was beat by the South Koreans.

Οι “βιτρινάνθρωποι” (the frontmen): Eνας πρώην ιδιοκτήτης πιτσαρίας και δυο μετριότατοι δικηγορίσκοι. Ο ένας από αυτούς μάλιστα είχε ψηφίσει και νόμο για την απαλλαγή όσων κλέβουν από οποιαδήποτε ποινική ευθύνη, ο περίφημος  νόμος περί  μη “ευθύνης” υπουργών.

Ο στόχος: Mετά το στρατιωτικό διαμελισμό της Γιουγκοσλαβίας σειρά είχε η Ελλάδα. Πλούσια σε κοιτάσματα φυσικού αερίου, πετρελαίου και χρυσού, με καίρια γεωστρατηγική θέση για τον έλεγχο Βαλκανίων, Μέσης Ανατολής, Δυτικής Ευρώπης.

Αυτή τη φορά ο οικονομικός, και όχι ο στρατιωτικός, διαμελισμός θα οδηγούσε σε κοινωνική αποσύνθεση, απόλυτη εξαθλίωση, και, φυσικά, την άνοδο του νεοναζισμού που μέλλει να παίξει τον “ρόλο” του“κακού μπάτσου” του συστήματος σε απόλυτη συνεργασία με το παρακράτος των μυστικών υπηρεσιών, και των χαφιέδων, και τη, φημολογούμενη, χρηματοδότηση των Ελλήνων εφοπλιστών με τις 70 φοροαπαλλαγές.

Το μέσο: ΄Ελλειψη ιστορικής γνώσης και παιδείας. Απόκρυψη, διαστρέβλωση της Ελληνικής Ιστορίας και του Αρχαίου Ελληνικού Πολιτισμού. Διαγραφή, καταστροφή και πλήρης απάλειψη της Ελληνικής Παιδείας από τα γενοφάσκια της. Την πρωτοβάθμια και την δευτεροβάθμια εκπαίδευση. Με βιβλία πληρωμένα από τους ΄Ελληνες φορολογούμενους (θυμάστε το Ρεπούσειο “...συνωστισμό της Σμύρνης” καθαγιασμένο από τον Κώστα Καραμανλή που ...λάτρευε, υποτίθεται, τα “Ματωμένα Χώματα” και επιδοτούσε τον ΠΑΣΟΚΟ Κουτσομύτη με εκατομμύρια ευρώ μέσω της ΕΡΤ). Με “τηλεοπτικές σειρές”  ψευδοντοκιμαντέρ όπως εκείνη για το 1821, με “συγγραφέα” τον κρατικοδίαιτο ...Τατσόπουλο, το απόλυτο αρσενικό του Κολονακιώτικου (φραπεδό-)κάμπου που ¨...επιδοτούν" εξίσου γενναιόδωρα οι ΄Ελληνες φορολογούμενοι με 500.000 ευρώ την 4ετία, για να (εξ-)ευτελίζει τον εαυτό του, τις συζύγους του και τα παιδιά του. 

Φυσικά, κανείς δεν θα θυμάται την "πολιτιστική προσφορά" του "λογοτεχνικού γίγαντα" Τατσόπουλου σε λίγο καιρό. 

Αξιοσημείωτο είναι ότι ο προαναφερόμενος ΔΕΝ ΕΧΕΙ ΚΑΝΕΙ ΟΥΤΕ ΜΙΑ ΕΠΕΡΩΤΗΣΗ ΓΙΑ ΤΟΝ ΠΟΛΙΤΙΣΜΟ κατά τη διάρκεια της μέχρι τώρα κοινοβουλευτικής του θητείας. Ούτε μια τόση δα πρόταση. Ούτε μια καταγγελία για τους ηθοποιούς, τεχνικούς, συγγραφείς, σκηνοθέτες, σεναριογράφους που μαστίζονται από την  ανεργία και την πείνα! Που να βρεθεί ο χρόνος άλλωστε; H ομφαλοσκόπηση επί 24ωρης βάσης είναι χρονοβόρο σπορ αν δεν το γνωρίζaτε!

Η κατάσταση των πραγμάτων: Η οικονομική και κοινωνική κρίση στην Ελλάδα ΔΕΝ αντανακλάται στον κινηματογράφο και στην οπτικοακουστική παραγωγή γενικότερα.  

Αφήνω κατά μέρος το οπτικοακουστική παιδεία και πολιτισμό για το οποίο χρειάζονται χιλιάδες ώρες ήχου και εικόνας για να αναλυθεί πληρέστατα και εμπεριστατωμένα η σταδιακή υποβάθμιση που οδήγησε στην τωρινή ανυπαρξία του.

Αυτός ήταν ανέκαθεν ο στόχος. Και επετεύχθη!

Οι κρατούντες ήθελαν να “ελέγχουν” τον κόσμο, τη μάζα, τα κουκιά ντε! Οι ψηφοφόροι, τα πρόβατα, τα ψηφαλάκια ντε!, ΔΕΝ ΕΠΡΕΠΕ να αποκτήσουν παιδεία (και οπτικοακουστική παιδεία), κριτική σκέψη, ευθυκρισία γιατί τότε θα ξεσηκώνονταν και οι δέκα οικογένειες που ήλεγχαν και εξακολουθούν να ελέγχουν την Ελλάδα, αν και το σκαρί της διαπλοκής ...τρίζει άσχημα τα τελευταία τρία χρόνια, θα έχαναν το κοντρόλ και την...”μάσα”. 

ΔΕΝ ΕΠΡΕΠΕ τα “μοσχάρια” προς...πάχυνση και σφαγή στην μεγάλη ...επιδοτούμενη φάρμα των ζώων να γνωρίζουν οτιδήποτε πόσο μάλλον την ιστορία τους και τον πολιτισμό τους.  (΄Ηταν must που θα έλεγε και ο  “βιτρινάνθρωπος” του Λαλιώτικου ΠΑΣΟΚ Πέτρος Κωστόπουλος). 

Η τελευταία ...μπάζα της "διαπλοκής" είναι η πώληση, με το ...αζημίωτο, βέβαια, των φυσικών κοιτασμάτων αερίου και πετρελαίου της Ελλάδας.

(...) ΄Ηταν κρίσιμο λοιπόν να διαμορφωθεί μία μάζα που θα άγεται και θα φέρεται κατά το δοκούν και θα ασχολείται με showmance (ανύπαρκτους) έρωτες ατάλαντων κομμωτριών από τη Θεσσαλονίκη, τα εσώρουχα της 50χρονης σιτεμένης και “πολυμεταχειρισμένης” ξανθιάς παρουσιάστριας, τους “στημένους” αγώνες του ποδοσφαιρικού στοιχήματος και για όσους ήθελαν μια “επίφαση” κουλτούρας της σφαλιάρας πριν το δελτίο των 8:30 τις "σαπουνόπερες" του Μegalou κρατικοδίαιτου, και καταχρεωμένου, καναλιού.

Σε αυτό τον “ιερό” στόχο του συστήματος της “διαπλοκής”, της χειραγώγησης δηλαδή  των άβουλων, καναπεδάτων μαζών-καταναλωτών στάθηκαν αρωγοί οι ιδιώτες και επιδοτούμενοι με αεριτζίδικα τραπεζικά... δάνεια καναλάρχες, που λειτουργώντας παράνομα κι έχοντας “αποσπάσει” πειρατικά τις τηλεοπτικές συχνότητες, ενδιαφερόντουσαν μόνον για διαπλεκόμενα deals και “φθηνό τηλεοπτικό αέρα” και όχι content (περιεχόμενο, δηλαδή τηλεοπτικές σειρές και τηλεταινίες), oi γνωστοί εκδότες του lifestyle (και τώρα του άρθρου, και του ...λόφου, 99 της ...Μυκόνου!) που ανέδειξαν την έπαρση σε ταλέντο, την άγνοια σε υπέρτατο χάρισμα, και την κομπορρημοσύνη σε θε'ι'κή ...επιφώτιση στα Βλάχικα της Βάρης (που σύντομα θα γίνουν της Βα...ιμάρης)!

Από κοντά και το διεφθαρμένο Υπουργείο Πολιτισμού, με την “παράγκα” του Κέντρου Κινηματογράφου, τις μεικτές "μα΄ι΄μού" συμπαραγωγές της ΕΡΤ , τις "επιδοτήσεις για τον ...πολιτισμό" από τον ΟΠΑΠ του τζόγου.  Τις ταινίες που ΔΕΝ  βλέπονταν αλλά με το στανιό έχριζαν και, εξακολουθούν, να χρίζουν οι εγκάθετοι... κριτικοί και συντάκτες του "πολιτιστικού...ρεπορτάζ" (copy paste δηλαδή των δελτίων τύπου των κρατικών αρχών) 
A-ΡΙ-ΣΤΟΥ-ΡΓΗ-ΜΑ-ΤΑ! 
Θυμίζω ότι υπεύθυνος για τη χρεωκοπία της Θεσσαλονίκης Πολιτιστικής Πρωτεύουσας είναι ο Ευάγγελος Βενιζέλος. Καθώς  επίσης και του Υπουργείου Πολιτισμού στούς Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες του 2004. Το τελευταίο από κοινού με τον "πολιτικό κολοσσό" της ΝΔ Λιάπη. 
Αυτές οι δυο οικονομικές και πολιτιστικές "χρεωκοπίες"  ήταν μόνο η πρόβα τζενεράλε. Σχεδόν είκοσι χρόνια αργότερα, από τη Θεσσαλονίκη Πολιτιστική Πρωτεύουσα, ο Ευάγγελος Βενιζέλος, χρεωκόπησε ολόκληρο το ελληνικό κράτος, και ξεπούλησε την πατρίδα. Ναι, ο δικηγορίσκος της συμφοράς!

ΠΑΝΩ ΑΠΟ 60 ΕΚΑΤΟΜΜΥΡΙΑ ΕΥΡΩ ΚΑΤΑΣΠΑΤΑΛΗΘΗΚΑΝ ΣΤΟ

ΦΕΣΤΙΒΑΛ ΚΙΝΗΜΑΤΟΓΡΑΦΟΥ ΘΕΣΣΑΛΟΝΙΚΗΣ ΠΡΙΝ ΤΟ 2009 

ΕΠΙΣΗΣ ΧΩΡΙΣ ΟΙΚΟΝΟΜΙΚΟ ΑΠΟΛΟΓΙΣΜΟ

...Κανείς οικονομικός εισαγγελέας ΔΕΝ ασχολήθηκε  με τα 60 εκατομμύρια ευρώ (5 χρόνια Χ 12 εκατομμύρια ευρώ) που κατασπαταλήθηκαν στο “Διεθνές” Φεστιβάλ Θεσσαλονίκης με πρόεδρο τον Barbie-αχυράνθρωπο- Γιώργο Χωραφά και ...διαχειρίστρια "καλλιτεχνική διευθύντρια" την Δέσποινα Μουζάκη της, μετέπειτα, πτωχευμένης Cinegram του άρθρου 99-οποία σύμπτωσις! 

Εξήντα εκατομμύρια έδωσαν ο ολίγιστος Κώστας Καραμανλής και ο “αυτοκτονημένος” Ζαχόπουλος για μετακινήσεις με lear Jet, δεξιώσεις, τηλεοπτικές καλύψεις, λιμουζίνες, λουκούλεια γεύματα και οτιδήποτε άλλο μπορεί να σκεφθεί κανείς ΕΚΤΟΣ ΑΠΟ ΕΠΕΝΔΥΣΕΙΣ ΣΕ ΤΑΙΝΙΕΣ ΚΑΙ ΚΙΝΗΜΑΤΟΓΡΑΦΙΚΗ ΥΠΟΔΟΜΗ.

....Κανείς δημοσιογράφος του “καλλιτεχνικού” και του “πολιτιστικού” ρεπορτάζ ΔΕΝ είπε στους αναγνώστες και τις αναγνώστριες του το ΑΥΤΟΝΟΗΤΟ: Οσο το φεστιβάλ Θεσσαλονίκης θα “συμπέφτει” ημερολογιακά με το  ΑFM (American Film Market) στη Σάντα Μόνικα του Λος ΄Αντζελες, και το AFI (Αmerican Film Institute) επίσης στο Los Angeles. 

ΚΑΝΕΙΣ ΣΗΜΑΝΤΙΚΟΣ ΔΙΑΝΟΜΕΑΣ ΤΑΙΝΙΩΝ, ή ΠΑΡΑΓΟΝΤΑΣ, ΔΕΝ πρόκειται να έρθει τις ίδιες ακριβώς ημέρες στην...εξωτική Θεσσαλονίκη. (Γιατί λοιπόν να πληρώνουν οι ΄Ελληνες φορολογούμενοι αδρότατα και ΧΩΡΙΣ ΑΠΟΛΟΓΙΣΜΟ ένα φεστιβάλ ΠΟΥ ΔΕΝ ΦΑΙΝΕΤΑΙ ΝΑ ΠΡΟΩΘΕΙ ΟΥΤΕ ΤΟΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΟ ΠΟΛΙΤΙΣΜΟ, ΟΥΤΕ ΤΟΝ ΚΙΝΗΜΑΤΟΓΡΑΦΟ ΜΕ ΠΡΑΚΤΙΚΑ ΑΠΟΤΕΛΕΣΜΑΤΙΚΑ;)

Τόση άγνοια λοιπόν. Τόση ασχετοσύνη. Ούτε τα στοιχειώδη της διεθνούς πραγματικότητας ΔΕΝ γνωρίζουν να πληροφορήσουν όσους και όσες τους διαβάζουν οι κήνσορες της ΕΣΗΕΑ και της ΠΟΕΣΥ...Μετά γιατί παραπονιούνται για την ανεργία του κλάδου και τους απολυμένους;  Υπάρχει κανείς που να τους πιστεύει και να τους συμπονά; Aκόμα;

ΤΑ ΚΙΝΗΜΑΤΟΓΡΑΦΙΚΑ ΠΛΑΤΩ ΠΟΥ ΘΑ ΕΔΙΝΑΝ 

ΔΟΥΛΕΙΑ ΣΕ ΠΟΛΥ ΚΟΣΜΟ ΚΑΙ ΓΙΑ ΠΟΙΟ ΛΟΓΟ ΔΕΝ ΤΑ ΗΘΕΛΑΝ

Οι ίδιοι πάνω-κάτω άνθρωποι (Φάνη Πάλλη-Πετραλιά και κυβέρνηση Καραμανλή ) έδιωξαν τον εκατομμυριούχο ΄Ελληνα ομογενή απο το Toronto, ιδιοκτήτη των Cinespace studios, τον Νίκο Μιρκόπουλο, που ήθελε-άκουσον θράσος!- να δημιουργήσει κινηματογραφικό πλατώ ΜΕ ΔΙΚΑ ΤΟΥ ΧΡΗΜΑΤΑ σε 2-3 υπόστεγα αεροπλάνων του αεροδρομίου του Ελληνικού. 

Προσέξτε τη λεπτομέρεια: Σε 18 μήνες θα ερχόταν η πρώτη αμερικάνικη κινηματογραφική παραγωγή για γύρισμα. TA ΣΤΟΥΝΤΙΟ ΘΑ ΤΑ ΕΚΑΝΕ ΜΕ ΔΙΚΑ ΤΟΥ ΛΕΦΤΑ! 

Αρα χωρίς επιδοτήσεις και υπουργικές, κοινοτικές χρηματοδοτήσεις! 

Tι ΜΙΖΑ θα βγάλουν ΟΜΩΣ οι υπουργοί και οι κηφήνες ΑΝ ΔΕΝ ΤΟΥΣ ΕΧΕΙΣ ΑΝΑΓΚΗ; 
 AΝ ΔΕΝ ΠΑΡΕΙΣ ΕΠΙΔΟΤΗΣΗ ; ...Καταλαβαινόμαστε νομίζω! 
Ε, και τούς άνεργους που είναι δικά μας "κομματόσκυλα" θα τους προσλάβουμε στο κανάλι της Βουλής για να απλώσουν... τραχανά! Δεν τρέχει τίποτα! Τα κορόιδα, οι φορολογούμενοι, που τα παιδιά τους λιποθυμούν από ασιτία στα σχολεία, και οι άστεγοι με τα δυο και τρία πτυχία, θα  ΠΛΗΡΩΣΟΥΝ ΑΔΡΟΤΑΤΑ!

«DECEMBER RIOTS», is a feature length film written, produced and directed by Dimitri Vorris, was in post-production, while a new wave of riots swept Greece on June 29th, 2011. The film's epicenter is the cold-blooded execution of 15 year-old student Alexander Gregoropoulos by two policemen in a downtown Athens café on December 6, 2008. "December Riots," a film about the Gregoropoulos killing, an incident that sparked riots in over seventy cities and twenty-two countries aound the world including the US, is produced, and directed by Greek-born Dimitri Vorris. The filmmaker acquired exclusive access to many never-before-seen court documents and evidence from the trial that followed Gregoropoulos’s killing.

Based on a real incident -the director himself was trapped on December 8, 2008 in a downtown arthouse movie theater during the 2008 riots-the independently financed, claustrophobic thriller, that was filmed entirely on location in Athens, Greece, focuses on a group of seven characters, Europeans and Americans, trapped in an art-house movie theater during the 2008 riots. 23 year-old newcomer British actress Lucy Lemos, Duncan Skinner, Fanis Katechos (“El Greco”), prolific actor Avraam Papadopoulos, popular comedian-director Nikos Giannikas anchor a youthful and talented supporting cast that includes Vivian Ioannou, Aris Athan, Nasos Pappas, Michael Angels, Louise Rheas, Aris Pappas, Maria Floratou, , Kostas Antalopoulos, Christina Mani (narrator).

Additional footage was filmed in late June 2011, while the film was being edited, when violence again erupted in Constitution Square. A new sequence with haunting and shocking images of Greek riots has been added.

FRANCIS FORD COPPOLA RETURNS TO GRAND SCALE FILMS AND HIS EPIC ROOTS

Despite the fact that he’s best known for his sweeping, epic-in-scope work from the ‘70s like The Godfather and Apocalypse Now, director Francis Ford Coppola has been spending his recent years making smaller, more experimental, or at least more under the radar projects like Tetro and Twixt. Yet, even with a smaller scale bringing lower expectations, his most recent work hasn’t been able to gain the same level of esteem as the smaller films of his past, like say 1974’sThe Conversation. So what does a directing legend have to do to make a dang impact in this town?

Some comments he made while pushing his new five film Blu-ray box set to Inside Movies suggest that he’s planning on returning to his epic roots. When explaining why he’s recently moved from the relative seclusion of his Napa Valley vineyard to new offices at Paramount, Coppola said, “I have a secret investor that has infinite money. I learned what I learned from my three smaller films, and wanted to write a bigger film. I’ve been writing it. It’s so ambitious so I decided to go to L.A. and make a film out of a studio that has all the costume rentals, and where all the actors are.”

Costumes and actors? Hot dang! It sounds like the patriarch of the Coppola clan is back in action! What’s this new big budget feature going to be about? It’s not clear, but the director’s further comments do provide some hints. He went on to say, “My story is set in New York. I have a first draft. I’m really ready for a casting phase. Movies are big in proportion to the period. It starts in the middle of the ‘20s, and there are sections in the ‘30s and the late ‘40s, and it goes until the late ‘60s.”...

Ενα πάρτι  223,5 εκατομμυρίων ευρώ, χρήματα των επιδοτήσεων του υπουργείου Πολιτισμού εξελίχθηκε τα 3 τελευταία χρόνια που η ελληνική οικονομία βρίσκεται στη δίνη μιας τεράστιας κρίσης.
Σύμφωνα με τα στοιχεία που κατέθεσε σήμερα στη Βουλή ο αναπληρωτής υπουργός Παιδείας, αρμόδιος για θέματα Πολιτισμού Κώστα Τζαβάρας, την τριετία 2010 – 2012 επιχορηγήθηκαν συνολικά 539 φορείς από αρκετά εκατομμύρια έως μερικές χιλιάδες ευρώ ο καθένας.
Στη λίστα υπάρχουν φορείς όπως η Λυρική Σκηνή που έχει λάβει συνολικά περίπου 60 εκατομμύρια αλλά και πολλοί απίθανοι πολιτιστικοί οργανισμοί, Μη Κερδοσκοπικές Οργανώσεις,σύλλογοι και σωματεία που έχουν λάβει από αρκετές εκατοντάδες χιλιάδες έως μερικές χιλιάδες ευρώ.
Χαρακτηριστική πάντως είναι η περίπτωση του Οργανισμού Εθελοντισμού «Εργο Πολιτών» που χρηματοδοτήθηκε το 2010 με 1,1εκατ. ευρώ και ήδη ελέγχεται από τη Δικαιοσύνη.
Αυτό το οποίο αξίζει να σημειωθεί είναι το γεγονός ότι κανείς από τους επιχορηγούμενους δεν είναι υποχρεωμένος να αποδώσει λογαριασμό για τα κρατικά χρήματα τα οποία νέμεται. Αυτή η διάταξη πάντως θα αλλάξει σύντομα με τροπολογία που αναμένεται να κατατεθεί στη Βουλή.
Ειδικότερα, το 2010 επιχορηγήθηκαν 184 φορείς 109.227.050 ευρώ, το 2011 επιχορηγήθηκαν 281 φορείς με70.640.083 ευρώ και το 2012 -έως τώρα- μόλις 11 φορείς με 43.393.357 ευρώ.

His trial has been postponed indefinitely in Athens courts numerous times over the last 5 years.
Anastasiadis claims he's innocent and that he has been framed,  with a massive fine, in a vedetta  with former "socialist" finance minister George Papakonstantinou. However the Finance Ministry and the Financial Crimes Squad are managed from trusted people, and relatives  of the current prime minister Antonis Samaras, mixed with veteran members of the right wing New Democracy party that heads the tri-party government coalition.

What is going to happen? Nothing! No fine is going to be paid. No trial. In 48 hours they are going to forget about it and move on...Welcome to Greece, the "money-laundering" epicenter of the planet, where former spies, corrupt judges, drug lords, professional  sycophants,  and bribed journalists are ruling the world.

In Greece like elsewhere in Europe, racism, antisemitism and neo-Nazism are expanding, without any strong and determined mobilization from the democrats.
Racist, antisemitic and denying holocaust speeches as well as the increasing number of violent behaviours in Greece jeopardize the fundamental values of democracy, in the very country where it was born.
 This must not be considered as a « natural » and negligible consequence of the economic and social crisis that cripples the country, not only because it is essential for a democratic society to respect Human Rights, but also because the crisis will not end tomorrow.
 Given today’s intolerable situation in Greece, we, leaders of the civil society, intellectuals, artists, citizens involved in the social and political life, say together and loud : “Enough !”
 Enough racist attacks ! Enough collusion between the police and Golden Dawn’s neo-Nazi thugs ! Enough racist, antisemitic and denying holocaust declarations ! Enough with the passivity of the legal system ! Enough permissiveness, protection and support given de facto to the gangsters of Golden Dawn !
They only thrive on the democrats’ indifference and weaknesses.
 Let us be clear : fighting racism, antisemitism and neo-Nazism in Greece does not mean fighting Greece, but fighting this ideology of hatred spreading across the whole continent.
It means being part of the great European struggle for democracy. It means supporting all of these who, elsewhere in Europe, also take part in this struggle and who need the democrats to mobilize in Greece. It means offering everyone, and especially young people, both a hope and a future, better than the unreachable horizon of debt repayment. It means keeping the European dream alive, the dream of a truly democratic continent, cleared of racism and antisemitism.

 In this great and beautiful fight, Europe must commit itself, since the European policies imposed on Greece, particularly in terms of immigration and austerity, create the conditions for neo-Nazism to spread.
Greek political leaders must also commit themselves : the malfunctioning of some state institutions, the indifference and the support brought de facto to Golden Dawn feed the permissiveness that make it possible for racist acts and speeches to multiply.
The whole society must get involved. All individuals have the responsibility to say “Enough !”, to make neo-Nazis understand that democracy imposes boundaries and that the democrats are determined to have those boundaries respected.
 This is why we call on all the individuals fond of justice, freedom and equality to join us and to express their commitment to democracy and their reject of racism, antisemitism and neo-Nazism, by walking together and silently, on Saturday, December 15^th, at 3pm, from the Parliament to the Acropolis.

The College of the 27 European Commissioners is meeting on 5th December 2012 to decide on the future of European copyright. To answer attacks against copyright, European creators are using this petition to remind decision-makers that their authors’ rights are essential for them to be able to create. SAA launches petition to support authors' rights

03/12/2012 - On December 5, on the initiative of European Commission President José Manuel Barroso, the College of Commissioners will meet to examine initiatives that the Commission may adopt in the field of copyright. The Society of Audiovisual Authors(SAA) has launched a petition aiming to support Europe's creators and authors' rights, which has been signed by several prominent film personalities including Ken Loach, Wim Wenders, Mike Leigh, Luc and Jean-Pierre Dardenne and Marco Bellocchio, among others.

The petition states that respecting authors' rights is urgent as European creators are currently facing obstacles to maintain them: "Their influence is being contested, their scope is under attack, their collective management criticized."

According to the text: "The fight against copyright, and against the right of authors to live from their art and receive fair compensation, forms the focus of an entire coalition: namely lobbyists from the leading companies on the Net who seek to exempt themselves both from their tax commitments to member states and their obligations towards cultural diversity and creation; certain consumer lobbies who consider the total and immediate satisfaction of their constituency a necessity, regardless of the negative, harmful impact for cultural industries, jobs in culture and for the funding of future creativity; European administrative departments and even commissioners who confine authors' rights and cultural diversity to old boundaries, thus irremediably excluding them from the digital world."

None of this is a surprise to anyone in Washington. They heard the same arguments we did -- they paid attention to the campaign, and then they saw a clear majority of voters deliver a verdict on November 6th.

If and when the House passes this bill, 98 percent of American families and 97 percent of small businesses will not see a tax increase.
