JUNE 29, 2011 ANNIVERSARY

June 29th marks the first anniversary of the atrocities committed at Constitution Square in Athens, Greece from the "socialist" George A. Papandreou (GAP-pun intended) government to implement in any possible way the "memorandum" bailout (read: selling out Greece-yes, the entire country at a huge discount). Employing hundreds of SWAT teams, tens of thousands of smoke, gas, flare grenades, the crackdown was aimed to terminate the Greek indignados movement and eliminate any resistance to the colpo grosso of selling out Greece. No human rights and Geneva convention were respected, no chemicals, sprays, guns, bullets were spared.

For many days Athens became a war zone similar to those you see on TV news in Syria, Lebanon, Egypt. I know. I had a first-hand experience. I was there. With a tiny HD camera I filmed many hours of  footage, edited it with my editors,  and put the highlights of this movement in my film "DECEMBER RIOTS".

MICHAEL MOORE: OBAMA CARE SUPREME COURT VICTORY A MANDATE FOR US TO ACT

Even though it's been a few hours now, I'm guessing you're still pinching yourself to make sure you're not dreaming. But yes, it happened. At 10:07 this morning, the conservative Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, John Roberts, not only joined with the liberal justices to completely uphold almost every single part of the Obama health care law, he wrote the majority opinion himself! In fact, he went even further. When he realized that the government had poorly made its constitutional case to the court, he went searching for a clause in their argument and the constitution that would give him the justification he needed to back the administration and to insure that his decision would hold up legally. In other words, even though he is on the opposite side of the political fence, he wrote the Dems' paper for them. Stunning. 

The other four justices? They didn't just vote to overturn the individual mandate part of the law, they all voted to kill the entire Act. 
The media is already spending much time talking about the mandate being the "centerpiece of the law," but the real news is that if you ever have a pre-existing condition, you cannot now be denied insurance. If you are a young adult without health insurance, you can now stay on your parents' plan until age 26. The insurance company can no longer say there is a lifetime cap to your coverage. The insurance companies are now required to spend 85 cents out of every dollar they take in on actual reimbursement for your health care – not on profit or "administrative costs" (some companies have been taking over a 30% cut; Medicare's total percentage of their budget for administrative costs: 2%). 
I know that our side is not used to victories and so we're not quite sure how to respond when we get one out of the blue. For some of us, the first inclination is to point out just how weak the Obama law actually is, that it doesn't provide true universal health care (26 million will STILL be uninsured), and that it leaves control of the system in the hands of the vultures, otherwise known as the health insurance companies. The individual mandate was a huge gift to the private insurance companies, guaranteeing them billions more from millions of new customers. And many of the key provisions of this law don't even take effect until 2014 – and if the Republicans win in November, you can kiss all of that goodbye. 
So, yes, the bill is highly flawed and somewhat wrong-headed – but what it IS is a huge step in the right direction. And today's court decision cements that. The right wing knows this and they are probably unraveling in some not-so-pretty ways right now. And that's why today is a great day. The Right has been smacked down by one of their own! They know what we all know — that the path of history has been, and will continue to move toward the basic human right that all people are entitled to see a doctor and NOT have to worry about losing their home because they can't afford to pay the medical bills. Those days are over, or will be soon, and that is where civilization is headed. It's not headed back to the days of Oliver Twist. Today's victory is momentum, it's forward motion, and we WILL have true universal health care in this country in the not too distant future. 
So take some time tonight to celebrate; this is a victory for the people. Actually, more than a victory, it is a mandate that all of us must now make sure that a second-term Obama continues to move the ball down the field, toward a system like they have in every other First World country on the planet. He simply has to improve Medicare and then expand it to every citizen in the country. The countries that do this, their people live an average of two to four years longer than we do. Is there a reason anyone doesn't want an extra four years of their lives? Or that our babies would have a better chance of surviving their first year like they do in the 48 countries that have a better infant mortality rate than we do? Exactly who is opposed to this? You'd have to be a bit…crazy. 
And that, I've come to believe, is the true divide in this country. It's not blue state vs red state, liberal vs conservative, Democrat vs Republican. The split we have in America can be boiled down in its simplest form to this: On one side are the people who believe Adam and Eve rode on dinosaurs 6,000 years ago – and then there's everyone else. On that first side are the people who've been fed a diet of fear and lies and hate. And who is feeding them? The 1%. The richest people in the country, the ones who aren't done with us yet because they still don't have enough wealth, have done their best to dumb down the population through destroying our educational system and using media to provide them with a vastly distorted sense of reality. The rich's only obstacle is that they only hold 1% of the votes in the country. So they have to try to get a slim majority of Americans to vote their way. And fear, plus keeping them stupid, usually works.(...)

In a body of work as extensive as Sorkin's, it's not too unbelievable that many characters would say "You think?" or "You bet!" - but some really good lines noticeably come up again and again and again. His self-plagiarism has been common knowledge among Sorkin's devotees for a while now, but this comprehensive, already-viral supercut makes a damning case. The next time a studio buys a new Sorkin script, they'll probably want to stipulate that it's 100% original.

MATT TAIBI: Just to clarify, since I had a few queries last night: when I said that the Greek situation was similar to Jefferson County, what I meant was that both deals involved governments getting into complex swap deals in order to mask current debt problems and/or push them into the future. Obviously the specifics were different (JeffCo was interest rate swaps, Greece was cross currency swaps), but the basic idea was similar, with similar results, i.e. both deals eventually blew up on politicians who inherited the messes created by predecessors in conjunction with unscrupulous investment banks.

MORE PRIVATE PRISONS IN ARIZONA AFTER SUPREME COURT DECISION

As the Supreme Court upheld a central provision of Arizona's controversial immigration law on Monday -– a requirement for law enforcement to check the legal status of suspected undocumented immigrants -- a powerful corporate lobby may stand to benefit: the private prison industry.

For-profit prison companies including Corrections Corporation of America and the GEO Group Inc. have capitalized on the immigration crackdown over the past decade, now controlling nearly half of the nation's vast immigrant detention system. Both companies have more than doubled revenues from the business of detaining immigrants since 2005, collecting hundreds of millions of dollars in federal contracts with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Some immigration reform advocates and lawyers have argued that the upholding of the so-called "show me your papers" portion of Arizona's SB 1070 may bring more undocumented immigrants into the web of federal immigration enforcement, resulting in increased detentions and deportations.

"This is really the pointy end of the sword of SB 1070," said Ali Noorani, executive director of the National Immigration Forum, an immigrants' rights group. "It provides a real boon, a real growth opportunity for the private prison industry in the State of Arizona."

A Corrections Corporation of America spokesman said that "under longstanding policy, CCA does not and has not ever taken positions on or promoted any sentencing or detention legislation." A spokesman for the GEO Group did not respond to questions. In the past, CCA officials have stressed that the federal government, not local law enforcement, makes the ultimate decision on which undocumented immigrants should be detained (...)

DEFERRED ACTION: THE NEXT GENERATION

President Obama at last came through with a bold memorandum on June 15, 2012, executed by DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano, granting deferred action to undocumented people. The Administration has always had authority to grant deferred action, which is a discretionary act not to prosecute or to deport a particular alien. While critics decry that Obama has circumvented Congress, the Administration has always had executive branch authority to exercise prosecutorial discretion, including deferred action, which is an expression of limited enforcement resources in the administration of the immigration law. It makes no sense to deport undocumented children who lacked the intention to violate their status and who have been educated in the US, and who have the potential to enhance the US through their hard work, creativity and determination to succeed.

We have always advocated that the Administration has inherent authority within the INA to ameliorate the hardships caused to non-citizens as a result of an imperfect and broken immigration system. In Tyranny of Priority Dates, we argued that the Administration has the authority to  allow non-citizens who are beneficiaries of approved family (I-130) or employment-based (I-140) petitions affected by the crushing backlogs in the priority date system to remain in the US through the grant of parole under INA 212(d)(5) based on “urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefits.” When the DREAM Act passed the House in 2010, but narrowly failed to garner the magic super majority of 60 in the Senate, we proposed that the President could also grant similar parole to DREAM children as well as deferred action in our blog, Keeping Hope Alive: President Obama Can Use His Executive Power Until Congress Passes The Dream Act.

 The new memorandum directs the heads of USCIS, CBP and ICE to exercise prosecutorial discretion, and thus grant deferred action, to an individual who came to the United States under the age of 16, has continuously resided in the US for at least 5 years preceding the date of the memorandum and was present in the US on the date of the memorandum, and who is currently in school, or has graduated from school or obtained a general education certificate, or who is an honorably discharged veteran of the Coast Guard or Armed Forces of the United States. Moreover, this individual should not be above the age of thirty and should also not have been convicted of a felony offense, a significant misdemeanor offense, multiple misdemeanor offenses, or otherwise poses a threat to national security or public safety. This directive further applies to individuals in removal proceedings as well as those who have already obtained removal orders. The grant of deferred action also allows the non-citizen to apply for employment authorization pursuant to an existing regulation, 8 CFR § 274a(c)(14).

DREAMING IN ARIZONA: CAN PROSECUTORIAL DISCRETION CO-EXIST WITH SHOW ME YOUR PAPERS?

In our blog, From Madison to Morton: Can Prosecutorial Discretion Trump State Action In USA v. Arizona?, we speculated whether the federal government’s ability to decide not to remove certain non-citizens from the US would be its trump card in Arizona v. USA, 567 U.S ___ (2012). A few days prior to Arizona v. USA, the Obama administration announced deferred action for young persons via a June 15, 2012 memorandum, which will prevent the deportation of over a million people who fell out of status of no fault of their own while Arizona’s SB 1070 aims at driving away these very people through an attrition policy. These young people who will benefit under administrative deferred action would have otherwise been eligible under the DREAM Act, which narrowly failed to pass Congress in December 2010.  

We were almost correct. In a 5-3 ruling (with Justice Kagan recusing), the Supreme Court invalidated most of the provisions of SB 1070 on the grounds that they were preempted by federal law such as criminalizing the failure to carry registration documents (section 3), criminalizing an alien’s ability to apply for or perform work (section 5(c)), and authorizing state officers to arrest a person based on probable cause that he or she has committed a removable offense (section 6). On the other hand, the Supreme Court, 8-0, narrowly upheld section 2(B), the “show me your papers” law,  which requires state officers to make “a reasonable attempt….to determine the immigration status” of any person they stop, detain, or arrest on some other legitimate basis if “reasonable suspicion exists that the person is an alien and is unlawfully present in the United States.” Section 2(B) further provides that “[a]ny person who is arrested shall have the person’s immigration status determined before the person is released.”

Ο κ. Τάσος Μπάνος από το γραφείο του στον δεύτερο όροφο της Βουλής (των εξαθλιωμένων) Ελλήνων, είχε θέα στον καταπράσινο Εθνικό Κήπο.  Μια θέα που του επέτρεπε να χαλαρώνει και να διώχνει μακριά την κούραση  από την ένταση της μέρας. Μέλος του Νομικού  Συμβουλίου του Κράτους, σύμβουλος για πολλά χρόνια της Βάσως Παπανδρέου αλλά και των  Παπακωνσταντίνου-Βενιζέλου. Ο κ. Μπάνος είναι εκείνος που συνέγραψε-όπως απεκάλυψε ο Βηματοδότης-όλα τα νομοσχέδια από το 2009 έως σήμερα. Το πρίφημο χαράτσι της ΔΕΗ, η μετενέργεια, οι περικοπές σε μισθούς και συντάξεις, φέρνουν την δική του υπογραφή. «Το 2009 ξεκινήσαμε με ένα νομοσχέδιο τον μήνα», λέει, «και φτάσαμε σήμερα που χρειάζονται δύο νομοσχέδια την ημέρα»., λες και πρόκειται για κάποιο σπουδάιο επίτευγμα.

Κάπου χαμένη στο ΥΠΕΧΩΔΕ βρισκόταν το τελευταίο διάστημα και η περίφημη Μόνα του Μνημονίου, η 32χρονη Μόνα Παπαδάκου από την Νάξο. Το ταλέντο της  νεαρής Μόνα του Μνημονίου ανέδειξε ο κ Κώστας Καρτάλης ως επικεφαλής του ΙΣΤΑΜΕ. Η νεαρά εργαζόταν εδώ ως επιστημονική σύμβουλος σε θέση που προκήρυξε ο τότε πρόεδρός του και σημερινός βουλευτής Μαγνησίας κ. Κ. Καρτάλης. Εδώ την συνάντησε και ο κ. Παπακωνσταντίνου ο οποίος ενθουσιάστηκε από τα προσόντα της. Μαζί έκαναν αρκετή δουλειά-όπως διαβάζουμε-έγιναν ειδικοί σε θέματα προϋπολογισμών και η συνεργασία τους ήταν τόσο καλή ώστε ο κ. Παπακωνσταντίνου της ζήτησε να πάνε μαζί στις Βρυξέλλες ως επιστημονική του σύμβουλος, όταν εξελέγη ευρωβουλευτής. Η συνάντηση αυτή έμελλε να αποβεί μοιραία και για μας τους υπόλοιπους. Η Λεμονιά Παπαδάκου μετείχε  ακόμη και ως υποστηρικτική βοηθητική ομάδα του υπουργού, σε μια διαπραγμάτευση που άλλαξε προς το χειρότερο τη ζωή όλων των Ελλήνων. Αντιθέτως, εμφανίζεται ότι έχει κάνει τη δουλειά της, δεν νιώθει ενοχές αλλά οργή.
Στην πραγματικότητα δεν έκανε η ίδια τις διαπραγματεύσεις. Τις έκαναν, λέει, ξοδεύοντας ατέλειωτες ώρες στο υπουργείο Οικονομικών, στο Σύνταγμα, ο υπουργός κ. Παπακωνσταντίνου, ο υφυπουργός κ. Φ.Σαχινίδης και ο πρόεδρος του Συμβουλίου Οικονομικών Εμπειρογνωμόνων κ. Γ. Ζανιάς . (Τα αποτελέσματα των “διαπραγματεύσεων” τα έχουμε υποστεί όλοι μας).

Για την κ. Παπαδάκου κυκλοφόρησε το εξής περιστατικό: Η Μόνα Παπαδάκου συνοδεύοντας εκπροσώπους της τρόικας και τον γενικό γραμματέα του υπουργείου Οικονομικών Γιώργο Ζαννιά πήγαν στο γραφείο της γενικής γραμματέως Κοινωνικής Ασφάλισης Αθηνάς Δρέτια. Η οδοντίατρος κ. Δρέττα εξέφρασε αρχικά  κάποιες επιφυλάξεις-πριν γίνει κι αυτή στη συνέχεια υπάκουο κορίτσι-γι αυτά που ζητούσαν οι τροικανοί. Η απάντηση ήρθε από τη Μόνα Παπαδάκου με ύφος υπολοχαγού των... Ες-Ες: «Θα κάνεις ότι σου λέμε εμείς!» Η απάντηση της κυρίας Δρέττα ήταν ανάλογη της εξωθεσμικής και σίγουρα απίστευτης «εντολής» που δέχτηκε. Στόλισε τη δεσποινίδα Λεμονιά με διάφορα κοσμητικά επίθετα, ενώ της απέδωσε ευθύνες για το Μνημόνιο και την κατάντια της χώρας.

 Ο κ. Τάσος Μπάνος, η κ. Λεμονιά Παπαδάκου, ο κ. Γ. Ζαννιάς, η κ. Χρύσα Χατζή –διευθύντρια του γραφείου του κ. Παπακωνσταντίνου-ο οικονομολόγος κ. Θέος και φυσικά ο κ. Παπακωνσταντίνου θα είναι από τους πρώτους που θα κληθούν ως μάρτυρες στην Εξεταστική Επιτροπή για το πως φθάσαμε στο Μνημόνιο, η οποία αποτελεί προεκλογική δέσμευση του κ. Αντώνη Σαμαρά. 

Γιατί τα γράφουμε όλα αυτά, θα αναρωτηθείτε. Γιατί είναι αδιανόητο στυλοβάτες νομοσχεδίων που προέκυψαν από το Μνημόνιο με τα γνωστά αποτελέσματα, όπως ο κ. Ζαννιάς-να ακούγονται για το οικονομκό team της κυβέρνησης. Πληροφορίες της τελευταίας  στιγμής αναφέρουν ότι ο Βασ. Ράπανος αρνείται οριστικά την ανάληψη του υπ. Οικονομικών...

YΠΟΔΙΚΟΙ ΓΙΑ ΚΑΚΟΥΡΓΗΜΑΤΑ ΒΟΥΛΕΥΤΕΣ, ΝΥΝ ΚΑΙ ΤΕΩΣ, ΟΠΛΟΦΟΡΟΥΝ KAI TΡΑΜΠΟΥΚΙΖΟΥΝ. ΑΦΕΙΔΩΣ ΜΟΙΡΑΖΕΙ ΑΔΕΙΕΣ Η ΑΣΤΥΝΟΜΙΑ...

Παλαιότερα το κυριότερο αξεσουάρ των βουλευτών, δείγμα, όπως οι ίδιοι νόμιζαν, κύρους, πνευματικής κουλτούρας και κυρίως νεοπλουτισμού ήταν οι πένες Mont Blanc. Εν συνεχεία όταν άρχισαν να τις χρησιμοποιούν επιδεικτικά και ορισμένοι newscasters, οι πένες αυτές πέρασαν σε δεύτερη μοίρα στα αξεσουάρ και ήρθαν τα κινητά 3G, τα ipad το iphone oι ταμπλέτες κτλ. Και όταν και αυτά έφυγαν από τη μόδα ήρθαν τα... 38άρια πιστόλια και περίστροφα. Μπορεί να τους μείωσαν τον μισθό, να τους περιόρισαν τα κυβικά στα βουλευτικά αυτοκίνητα, αλλά τα αιτήματα νέων βουλευτών και υποψηφίων βουλευτών για άδεια οπλοφορίας όλο και αυξάνονται.

Τα αιτήματα για άδεια οπλοφορίας στην αρμόδια υποδιεύθυνση της ΓΑΔΑ πέφτουν σαν χαλάζι, παρά το γεγονός ότι αφενός άδειες οπλοφορίας όλο και πιο δύσκολα δίνονται και αφετέρου, όσοι χρημάτισαν βουλευτές στην προηγούμενη Βουλή δεν είχαν σε ποσοστό 98% ούτε άδεια οπλοφορίας, ούτε βεβαίως όπλο. Την αρχή έκαναν πέντε- έξι βουλευτές της Χρυσής Αυγής, οι οποίοι κατέθεσαν αίτημα για άδεια οπλοφορίας, στη διάρκεια της προεκλογικής περιόδου, πριν καν εκλεγούν βουλευτές. Hδη δύο από τα αιτήματα χρυσαυγιτών βουλευτών κρίθηκαν θετικά από τους αρμόδιους εισαγγελείς, πράγμα που σημαίνει, ότι είχαν λευκό ποινικό μητρώο και ότι πέρασαν με επιτυχία τα ψυχολογικά τεστ. Ουδείς όμως ελέγχει πώς γίνονται αυτά τα ψυχολογικά τεστ και ποια εγκυρότητα έχουν.

Τα ερωτήματα ωστόσο που ανακύπτουν είναι γιατί χρειάζονται οι βουλευτές τα όπλα; Εναντίον ποιού θα βάλλουν, τη στιγμή που η Πολιτεία φρόντισε να τους καλύψει πλουσιοπάροχα, με αστυνομική φρουρά και ενίοτε με συνοδούς μοτοσυκλετιστές αστυνομικούς. Είναι, λένε, ένα από τα πολλά προνόμια που έχουν, κάποιοι το ξέθαψαν (κυρίως μετά τους προπηλακισμούς που δέχτηκαν για το μνημόνιο) και κάποιοι νέοι (ανάμεσά τους και μία γυναίκα βουλευτής) το αξιοποιούν κάνοντας τους απλούς πολίτες, που είναι εκτεθειμένοι στην καθημερινή εγκληματικότητα και στα καλάσνικοφ να διερωτώνται για ποιον λόγο οι βουλευτές να οπλοφορούν, που απολαμβάνουν και ασυλία...

Είναι βεβαίως και το θέμα του λευκού μητρώου. Ενας υπόδικος κατηγορούμενος με βαριά αδικήματα, σε βαθμό μάλιστα κακουργήματος μπορεί να αποκτήσει όπλο; Η απάντηση είναι ναι και φέρνουν ως παράδειγμα τον εκπρόσωπο Τύπου της Χρυσής Αυγής κ. Ηλ. Κασιδιάρη, ο οποίος αντιμετωπίζει βαριές κατηγορίες και πριν από λίγες ημέρες, πήγε στη ΓΑΔΑ (συνοδευόμενος μάλιστα και από άλλους βουλευτές της Χρυσής Αυγής και από έναν... παπά) για να καταθέσει αίτημα οπλοφορίας.

Συνεργάτης μου ρώτησε πάντως σε κάποια στιγμή τον κ. Κασιδιάρη, για ποιον σκοπό θέλει την άδεια οπλοφορίας; Ο εκπρόσωπος της Χρυσής Αυγής απάντησε ομολογουμένως με χιούμορ: «Τη θέλω για να αγοράσω 13 Καλάσνικοφ και 3 Ούζι. Τι τη θέλω, βουλευτής είμαι, τη δικαιούμαι...». Μπρρρ.

ΣΚΑΝΔΑΛΑ ΠΑΣΟΚ
1. Υπερχρέωση της χώρας και διόγκωση του δημόσιου χρέους στο 114%, όταν το 1981 το δημόσιο χρέος ήταν μόλις 29%, υπολειπόταν του μέσου κοινοτικού και χωρίς κοινοτικά πλαίσια στήριξης. Το 1985 ξεπέρασε το μέσο κοινοτικό και το 2001 έφτασε σε χρέος ρεκόρ 114% του ΑΕΠ.
2.Δάνεια, υπανάπτυξη, πληθωρισμός, την περίοδο 81-89: κατά την είσοδο της χώρας...
στην ΕΟΚ , το 1981, ήταν η πρώτη χώρα σε ολόκληρη την Ευρώπη με ρυθμό ανάπτυξης 3,1%, έναντι 0,8% που ήταν ο μέσος όρος των υπολοίπων κρατών-μελών! Παρά την εισροή των μεγαλύτερων οικονομικών πακέτων από τη σύσταση του ελληνικού κράτους και παρά τη θετική διεθνή συγκυρία(κυρίως της μείωση της τιμής του πετρελαίου):
-το ΑΕΠ κινήθηκε σε ρυθμούς αισθητά μικρότερους απ' αυτούς των χωρών της ΕΟΚ (μέσος όρος για την Ελλάδα 1,7%, για δε την ΕΟΚ 2,7%) .... για πρώτη φορά από το δεύτερο Παγκόσμιο Πόλεμο.
-οι δημόσιες δαπάνες ως ποσοστό του Α.Ε.Π. από 30% το 1980 ανήλθαν στο 50% το 1990, αποτέλεσμα της πρωτοφανούς διεύρυνσης του Δημοσίου τομέα.
-ο πληθωρισμός υπερτετραπλασιάστηκε απ' αυτούς των χωρών της ΕΟΚ (πληθωρισμός για την Ελλάδα 18,2%, για δε την ΕΟΚ 4,5%).
τα δάνεια της δεκαετίας του 80 δεν είχαν ξαναγίνει από τη σύσταση του Ελληνικού κράτους.
-το εθνικό μας νόμισμα υποτιμήθηκε κατά 30% σε 2 διαδοχικές υποτιμήσεις της τάξεως του 15% εκάστη, βάζοντας οριστική ταφόπλακα στο εθνικό εισόδημα και στην Ελληνική οικονομία! Κατά την πρώτη πασοκική περίοδο εφαρμόστηκε μια τριτικοσμική πολιτική, η οποία στήριζε την εγχώρια κατανάλωση στο δανεισμό και διόγκωνε το κράτος με τους άπλετα παρεχόμενους κοινοτικούς πόρους.
3. «Σκάνδαλο καλαμποκιού»: αφορά τη λαθραία εισαγωγή χιλιάδων τόνων γιουγκοσλαβικού καλαμποκιού από κρατική εταιρεία και την εξαγωγή του στη συνέχεια σε χώρες της Ευρώπης ως ελληνικό. Τα κέρδη από την «κομπίνα» υπερέβησαν τα 1,5 εκατομμύρια δολάρια ενώ στα παραστατικά εμφανίστηκαν μόνο 1 εκατομμύριο δρχ.!
4. Σκάνδαλο 1,5 δις εις βάρος της ΕΤΒΑ και δύο θυγατρικών ναυτιλιακών εταιρειών της με την αγορά πλοίων από δύο άγνωστες κυπριακές εταιρείες φαντάσματα, οι οποίες εμφανίζονταν χωρίς κεφάλαια και χωρίς μετόχους.
5. Το σκάνδαλο της αγροτικής ασφαλιστικής εταιρείας. Πέραν των παρανομιών που αποκαλύφθηκαν και της διασπάθισης δημοσίου χρήματος, εξασφάλιζε, την δεύτερη τετραετία του Πασόκ, στα διευθυντικά της στελέχη, μισθούς από 25 έως 33 εκατομμύρια δρχ. μηνιαίως, με τη μέθοδο των προμηθειών..... ενώ την ίδια στιγμή οι εργαζόμενοι στην Ελλάδα αμείβονταν με μισθούς πείνας....

«Tην πλήρη διαφοροποίησή του εκφράζει ο Βαγγέλης Μαρινάκης από τις επιλογές και τις τακτικές του Γιάννη Αλαφούζου που εκθέτουν ανεπανόρθωτα τον ΣΚΑΪ και έχουν αρνητικό αντίκτυπο για το μετοχικό τμήμα του σταθμού. Ο τίτλος "πόλεμος Ελλήνων ανταποκριτών" αποτελεί υπεραπλούστευση του προβλήματος που προέκυψε στις 20/6, όταν ο νεαρός και άπειρος ανταποκριτής Θάνος Δημάδης, μη γνωρίζοντας ότι μπορεί κανείς να επικοινωνεί με το State Department -και να λαμβάνει guidance, (δηλαδή την θέση του αμερικανικού ΥΠΕΞ, πριν το μπρίφινγκ, ) και να την αποδίδει σε αξιωματούχο, χρησιμοποίησε τον ΣΚΑΙ αμφισβητώντας την ύπαρξη δήλωσης και την αξιοπιστία των συναδέλφων του.

Αποδείχθηκε ότι η δήλωση του αξιωματιούχου αποτελούσε επακριβώς τη θέση της αμερικανικής κυβέρνησης και αναμένουμε σύντομα τη συγγνώμη του σταθμού του και του ιδίου, ως ωφείλουν να πράξουν. Διότι κάποτε πρέπει να μάθουμε να αναγνωρίζουμε τα λάθη μας και να μην προσπαθούμε να καλύπτουμε την ανικονότητά μας διασύροντας έμπειρους κι ευσυνείδητους δημοσιογράφους.

Δυστυχώς η κρίση που μαστίζει την Ελλάδα και τα ΜΜΕ της έφερε στο προσκήνιο φαινόμενα να χρησιμοποιούνται σε τέτοιες σημαντικές για την Ελλάδα στιγμές άπειρα και κακοπληρωμένα παιδιά, για να μεταδίδουν κρίσιμες για το μέλλον του ελληνικού λαού ειδήσεις. Και μια που κάνατε twitto-ρεπορτάζ, μπορείται να δείτε πως προβάλλονται από τον συγκεκριμένο ανταποκριτή κρίσιμα θέματα, με στόχο να στηρίξουν ή να χλευάσουν θέσεις πολιτικών δυνάμεων. Οταν αυτό γίνεται από κάποιον που ο μισθός του δεν απαρκεί να καλύψει καν βασικά έξοδα διαβίωσης, είναι στοιχείο που χρήζει περαιτέρω μελέτης κι ανάλυσης...

Θυμίζοντας το "ό,τι είναι νόμιμο είναι και ηθικό" του Γ. Βουλγαράκη, ο νέος υφυπ. Ναυτιλίας με offshore σε φορολογικό παράδεισο! Τεράστια πρόκληση προς τον ελληνικό λαό που τον αναγκάζουν σε θυσίες και φοροεπιδρομή που οδηγούν στην εξαθλίωση

Συνήθως τους χαρακτηρίζουμε "ανθρώπους της αγοράς" και αυτός ο προσδιορισμός "της αγοράς" χαιρετίζεται ως θετικός, σε αντιδιαστολή μάλιστα με αυτούς "του Δημοσίου" που ταυτίζονται με το απόλυτο κακό. Μια τέτοια περίπτωση είναι ο κ. Γ. Βερνίκος που ανέλαβε υφυπουργός παρότι ως επιχειρηματίας είχε τιμωρηθεί με πρόστιμο από την Επιτροπή Κεφαλαιαγοράς.

Ο κ. Βερνίκος, ο άνθρωπος στον οποίο ανατέθηκε το υφυπουργείο Ναυτιλίας, δηλαδή η διεπαφή με τους εφοπλιστές, είναι και ο ίδιος εφοπλιστής και άνθρωπος της αγοράς. Θα μπορούσε κανείς να ισχυριστεί ότι το αντιστασιακό του παρελθόν αποτελεί εγγύηση ή έστω μία έξωθεν καλή μαρτυρία ότι ως υπουργός θα είναι με το στρατόπεδο του δημοσίου συμφέροντος και όχι με την λαθρόβια επιχειρηματική τάξη που επιδεικτικά φοροδιαφεύγει ή εξίσου επιδεικτικά φοροαποφεύγει όπως συμβαίνει με τους εφοπλιστές. Δυστυχώς δεν φαίνεται να είναι αυτή η περίπτωση. Ο κ. Βερνίκος είναι τυπική περίπτωση "άνθρωπου της αγοράς" και της αγοραίας πολιτικής, εκεί που "το νόμιμο είναι και ηθικό" όπως με ενάργεια το είχε θέσει και ο κ. Βουλγαράκης.

Την ίδια στιγμή που ο ελληνικός λαός ερχόταν αντιμέτωπος με τα διλλήματα της διάλυσης του κοινωνικού ιστού ή της χρεωκοπίας (που κατόπιν έγινε χάος, επειδή δεν φόβιζε κανένα) κάποιοι επέκτειναν με τις ευλογίες του αντικειμενικού και ορθολογικού κράτους τον επιχειρηματικό τους κύκλο, εκεί που θα πλήρωναν λιγότερα, στις offshore εταιρίες. Για καλή τύχη του Γ. Βερνίκου στην χώρα μας δεν χρειάζεται να είναι κανείς παράνομος για να κερδίσει περισσότερα, αφού συγκεκριμένες πολιτικές δυνάμεις, έχουν δέσει την τύχη τους με τέτοιου είδους διευκολύνσεις, την ώρα που έκοβαν το ρεύμα από οικογένειες που χρώσταγαν πενταροδεκάρες.

Ο κ. Βερνίκος, όπως και κάθε Έλλην εφοπλιστής που σέβεται τον εαυτό του, το πορτοφόλι του το έχει σε offshore στον φορολογικό παράδεισο των Νήσων Μάρσαλ...

Να περιμένουμε ίσως στη θέση του Γενικου Γραμματέα του υπουργείου Ναυτιλίας να τοποθετηθεί ο κ. Βικτωρ -  "φορολογησε με αν με βρεις" - Ρέστης;
